The old behaviour forced a workaround that most teams discovered only after a customer hit it.
The change is backwards compatible. Older SDK versions continue to function; upgrading unlocks the new fields without any code change beyond the bump.
Every change lands in both environments
Test in staging, promote the same configuration to production. Nothing in this list needs a migration on your side.
