Nightjar Security cut automated sign-ups without touching real users

Free-tier abuse was consuming a third of the platform's compute.

Illustrative example

Nightjar Security is a composite example, not a named customer. The situation and the way it was solved are drawn from what teams actually bring to us; the company itself is invented. Real customer stories are published only with the customer’s permission and their own name on them.

monitor first

The situation

Blocking by IP caught some of it and locked out legitimate users behind corporate NAT. Every rule added a support ticket.

What they did

Radar was run in monitor mode first, recording what it would have blocked, so the false-positive rate was known before enforcement.

What changed

Enforcement went on with numbers rather than hope. Legitimate sign-ups were unaffected.
