Patchwork Grid moved off a legacy IdP with sessions intact

The old identity provider was end-of-life with a hard cutoff date.

Illustrative example

Patchwork Grid is a composite example, not a named customer. The situation and the way it was solved are drawn from what teams actually bring to us; the company itself is invented. Real customer stories are published only with the customer’s permission and their own name on them.

The situation

A forced migration usually means signing everybody out on a Tuesday and hoping the support queue holds.

What they did

Accounts were imported with their original identifiers, and both paths ran in parallel until sign-in volume matched.

What changed

Nobody was signed out. The old provider was switched off after the numbers agreed, not before.

Add SSO, the easy way
