Event terms and conditions

Last updated: August 31, 2026 · Draft, not yet in force

These terms apply when you register for or attend an event we host or organise. They are a working draft alongside the rest of the legal templates.

1. Registration

Registration is personal to the named attendee and may not be transferred without our agreement. We may refuse or cancel a registration, refunding any fee paid.

Places at free events are limited; registering does not guarantee entry if capacity is reached.

2. Cancellation and refunds

If we cancel an event, paid registrations are refunded in full. We are not responsible for travel or accommodation booked around an event.

If you cancel, paid registrations are refundable up to fourteen days before the event date.

3. Conduct

Attendance is conditional on following the event code of conduct and the venue's rules. Removal for a breach does not entitle you to a refund.

4. Recording and photography

Sessions may be recorded and photographed. Tell event staff if you do not wish to appear, and we will make reasonable arrangements.

You may not record sessions yourself without the speaker's agreement.

5. Data

Details given at registration are used to run the event and to contact you about it.

We do not sell attendee lists. Where an event has a partner, we say so at registration and name them.

  • Name and email address, to manage entry
  • Dietary and accessibility needs, kept only until the event ends
  • Company name, where you choose to give it

6. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, our liability in connection with an event is limited to the fee paid for it.
